Event Flier for Young Life® kickball event

Young Life® requested a poster featuring the name of their event, place, date, time, and suggested attire. I went with a collage style flier including a plaid pattern, baseball turf, a ball, hats, and a shoe: kickball themed elements. The opacity, color, and placement of the elements vary to achieve a playful and eccentric abstract composition. The top font was chosen for it’s child-like demeanor, the bottom for it’s sporty connotation. I opted to accentuate the ‘G’ in “Young” for the purpose of creating an “O” for the word “off,” this creates a unity between the two lines of type. The last element was the Young Life logo which I tucked into the shoe, mimicking a shoe brand. Finished with a poster/paper texture.

The end result is a color opposites, element conjoined poster —that has real character— you might see stapled to a wall or cork board.
